- Creation of the overall project description, which takes into account the 14 interested project partners
- Project management and project office for the application and implementation of the research project
- IP-KOM enables the efficient, standardized provision of collective passenger information in the vehicles and allows the replacement of the VDV300 vehicle bus
- Passengers, including some with foreign languages or visually impaired, can inform themselves on their personal mobile devices with IP-KOM based applications of their choice
- The IP-KOM project explored and defined communications services and semantic, self-descriptive models and profiles. IP-KOM defined the necessary base services, base standards und first services, which will provide consistent passenger information, travel information as well as a low-cost operation of systems of public transport companies. The efficiency of the development and integration of new system components are improved distinctive with IP-KOM
- It has been demonstrated, how IP-KOM can be integrated into existing systems. Existing standards and research results were taken into account or supplemented. In the field test in Stuttgart the suitability of this standardization proposals with the main focus on passenger information has been successfully demonstrated
- The results are documented in the VDV publications 301, 430 and 431 and in the VDV messages 3001, 7023 and 7025
